Only You Can Stop You

I’ve heard a wise man say once, that, “everyday I am constantly fighting myself.” “I am consistently in competition with me.” At first I was confused, I didn’t  understand what he meant. He further went on to say that every day he has to fight for the new him. He has to fight the urge to return back to his old way of thinking, of living, of being who he was before. Ahh, now I understood completely what he meant. Every day I’m given choices. To workout, to read, to eat healthy, to sleep in, to work on my goals. And not everyday I want to do what I know I should. Sometimes I sleep in, sometimes I eat terribly, and watch way too much T.V. I’m not perfect. No one is.

It’s not about being perfect. It’s about trying each day no matter what the day before looked like. It’s about believing in yourself, and forgiving yourself daily. So what you missed the gym yesterday, go tomorrow and work harder. Missed a goal yesterday, accomplish two goals today.  I believe we can all be great and do anything we set our minds to do. The hard part is believing that we can do it. We make one mistake, and our minds want to push us back to who we were, and make us believe we can’t. You are your only limit. Only you can stop you from getting what you want out of life. It’s up to you to do whatever it takes to achieve it.

It’s so easy to fall back into old ways. It takes no effort to be mediocre. It’s almost so easy to make one mistake, and then give up. Never let the mistakes from yesterday, predict your tomorrow. I am fighting with myself everyday to be a better person. To chase my dreams, no matter how many times I fail, or mess up. Which I do, we all do. But I’ve chosen,  that no  matter what obstacles come, I’m going to fight to the end. Are you?  Whatever it is that wants you to stay the same, and not grow, you fight it, with all the power you possess. “You are the only one who can limit your greatness.” So how great do you want to be? Think about it, now go be it!
